Thank you for the newsletter. It really looks good. I didn’t have the time to go through the content yet, but it is very neatly designed and laid out. The info is very clearly divided into categories which makes it so much easier to sift though information to find the most relevant.

The newsletter is looking great - I love the use of colour on the text which actually makes things clearer!

As someone who at home refuses to use Microsoft software in favour of GNU/Linux open source, could I please request that documents are NOT linked that are in the proprietary, closed source mangled format of Microsoft.

There are a number of reasons for this, which I will basically summarise by saying that as Microsoft continues to change its code base and its backwards compatibility rendering documents released with previous version of MS Word largely unintelligible, continuing support for Microsoft formats is not likely to be sustainable in the long term.  Moreover, MS Word creates extraordinarily large and insecure files, and is only readable via proprietary software packages.  Consequently, might I request that documents be sent out either in an open and standardised document format that is accessible to all document readers (i.e. *.odt) or perhaps they could be converted to PDFs?

 Just a request if it is at all possible?

I saw the new ebulletin and it looks really good - well done!!

Like the new format; but in the email itself though, I would put some detail against each link - eg: New walking group - needed to say it was for those with visual disabilities (I clicked on that, and was not of interest)

Thanks for the new look e-newsletter. The colours are great and it’s certainly up to date with blogs, twitters et al!

Unfortunately it has taken me much longer to scan the articles and there were further delays having to wait for links to open, return to the main page etc. What I loved about the previous format was being able to scroll down in a few minutes and get an overview of all the articles. The new format makes this more difficult and I found myself opening articles which were of no relevance to me due to the lack of detail in the header.

I think quick links on the website  and descriptions for the bulletin links  would have helped to improve navigation. I know the descriptions will make it longer but they will save time by not having to open links which aren’t of relevance to the reader. I usually read the newsletter from home on a Thursday on the laptop and some of the links can take a while to open.
